Ómar Thor ÓmarssonTechCrunch selects Optise as one of the most promising startups in the world
We are competing in Battlefield 200 at TechCrunch Disrupt in San Francisco, the first Icelandic company ever selected in the competition's 20 year history.

TLDR
TechCrunch has selected Optise as one of the most promising startups in the world, and we are competing in Battlefield 200 at TechCrunch Disrupt in San Francisco this October. No Icelandic company has made the competition in its 20 year history, so this is a first. We are going to show the world what the future of B2B websites looks like. Before we fly out, we are throwing a launch event at Gróska in Reykjavik to unveil Optise 1.0 and exactly what we are presenting in San Francisco.
The news
Optise has been selected by TechCrunch as one of the most promising startups in the world, and we will compete in Battlefield 200 at TechCrunch Disrupt in San Francisco.
Battlefield is where some of the best known companies in tech first stood up and made their case. In 20 years of the competition, no Icelandic company has been selected. We are the first. That is a good day for us, and a good day for the Icelandic startup scene.
What we are showing in San Francisco
The future of B2B websites. Specifically, what a self-improving website actually looks like when it is running:
- Found on search engines and AI engines, so buyers discover you in both places.
- Improving every week, automatically, instead of going stale after launch.
- Selling for you while you focus on everything else.
We have been building toward this for 2 years. Getting to make the case on that stage, in front of that room, is the opportunity we wanted.
Optise 1.0 is here
The other half of the news: Optise 1.0 is ready. So obviously we are throwing a launch party.
Come to the launch event in Reykjavik
Before we head to San Francisco, we are giving our customers and our community the first look. We are at Gróska in Reykjavik to unveil Optise 1.0 and walk through exactly what we are presenting at Disrupt.
Then we celebrate properly. If you are in town, come along.
A personal note
I have wanted this one for a long time. I used to watch startups walk onto the Battlefield stage and blow the room apart, from my couch at home in Iceland. In October we are standing on that same stage.
The keynote turtleneck is already ironed. I am still deciding whether to open with "since the dawn of time." Feedback welcome.
Massive moment for the Optise team.
